Endless views of the Thai Gulf makes one reflect on life.

A luxury bedroom with views of the Thai Gulf typically combines modern elegance with touches of tropical serenity. Imagine a spacious room featuring a plush king-sized bed with high-thread-count linens, surrounded by polished wooden floors. Floor-to-ceiling glass walls open to a private terrace, offering uninterrupted vistas of the turquoise waters and golden sunsets. Décor includes soft, neutral tones accented by Thai-inspired elements such as silk cushions, and carved wood panels.

Amenities often include a lavish en-suite bathroom with a freestanding tub overlooking the sea, smart lighting, and a state-of-the-art entertainment system. The ambiance is serene, enhanced by the gentle sound of waves and fragrant tropical flowers. This setting epitomizes relaxation and indulgence in one of the world's most beautiful coastal locations.

Flying Singapore Airlines Business Class nonstop from Newark to Singapore.

Now lets talk about how I booked three business class seats on one of the longest flights in the world, flying Singapore Airline’s nonstop route from Newark to Singapore.

These seats can go for as much as $3,500 and up, one way. However, I was able to book each seat for 99,000 American Express points and $5.60 in taxes per person, by transfering to Singapore Airline’s Asia Miles program. Saving well over $10,000 on our flights in order to get to South East Asia and survive the eighteen and a half hour flight. It was great. For the same 99,000 points we were able to add on a flight from Singapore to Phuket with a four night layover in Singapore. That layover only cost us $100 each. If you book a roundtrip ticket, Singapore Airlines will wave the $100 layover fee.

In total, we paid 297,000 Amex points & $316.80 in taxes for two adults & one three year old.

That’s a savings of $10,183.20 and our journey has just begun.

After eighteen and a half hours in the lap of luxury, eating our fill of delicious Singaporian dishes, we landed in Singapore and made our way to the Conrad Centennial. Upon arrival we were upgraded to a partial ocean view and access to their Executive Lounge.

We paid cash for our two night stay due to a promo Hilton had at the time which gave us $150 for each night of our stay, for a total of $300 in hotel credits. Our nightly rate for a king bedroom was $260 per night. This equate to $110 per night in reduction on our nightly rate.

Then we switched to The Ritz Carlton, Singapore for another two nights. Here we booked through American Express Fine Hotels and Resorts.

This program comes with a slew of elite benefits such as $100 hotel credit, Breakfast for two, a room upgrade, and late checkout. In addition to those benefits, there was a $200 hotel credit on our Platinum card when staying at a fine hotel and resort. The nightly rate was $250 for a king room per night. Here we saved a total of $300 for a combined $600 in savings on our four night stay in Singapore and only spending $420 for four nights at two very high end hotels.
